Welcomed by Industry

The concept of the Larrakia Trade Training Centre quickly drew the attention of the proponents of the Ichthys Project – INPEX and joint venture partner Total.

INPEX and Total have a strong track record of social responsibility to the communities where their projects are located world-wide, and are particularly loyal in recognising the Traditional Owners of the land.

They could immediately see the benefits such a facility would bring to Darwin by shaping a new generation of skilled tradesmen and women. Through the Larrakia Trade Training Centre, INPEX and Total will make an important contribution to the social and economic sustainability of the Darwin community.

By funding the initial construction costs, INPEX and Total have become the main financial supporters of the Centre. The joint venture partners are positive of its future and the training and opportunities it will offer young people.

The Ichthys Project joint venture is pleased to support the Larrakia Trade Training Centre. It is an excellent initiative that will have significant long-term benefits for the Territory.Sean Kildare, GM Darwin, Inpex
